You come out of storytime and your car door is wide open. Enough said.
So, the last two days have been so LOOOOONG! I don't know what they call this phase in Jackson's life, but it is the one where he wants to do not what I want him to do. If I say, hey lets wipe your nose, he runs the other way. If I say okay, you have to have a snotty nose then, he comes to me bawling asking for nose. I can't win and I think I am going out of my mind. I have to find some balance in my life as well because seriously, I can't get out the door before noon and considering the fact that J's lunchtime is at 12pm and he naps at 12:30pm, it doesn't leave me ANY time to do things. I don't know what to cut out. Most of you know that I am not a morning person and I usually let Jackson be my alarm clock around 8am. We get up, get dressed, feed him, go to the gym, get home, I attempt to shower with him awake and voila, it is close to noon. Do I have to get up at 5:45am to work out? Should I wake Jackson up earlier so we can get going. REally, I don't know what the solution is, but it really has me down. That on top of the fact that the last two days have not being shining examples of my best mothering skills.
That said, I will post another complaint, because, hey why not, I am full of them right now...one of those days. This is it. Pregnancy is going well except for the fact that I am always starving. I will be out running errands and it hits me, I am painfully hungry. It is like I go from 0 to staving in no time at all. So, my alternatives are to buy some food, which will probobly not be healthy, or wait it out and take it out on those I am with (Jackson--poor thing). Really that is my biggest complaint right now, along with being tired all the time, although I think I am getting kind of used to that. I just wish I was more patient when I am tired.
So, on to my class reunion this last weekend. Four letter describe it well... L-A-M-E. Seriously, there was not a single one of my friends there. It was for the two highschools in the area as well and with combined graduating classes of well over 1000 people, there were probobly about 100 people there. So, we (Douglas and I) travel all the way to AZ to go, spend $80 a head and have a bad meal in a poorly chosen location with no one we knew. We sat by a kid that said hi to me and reminded me that he was in some of my classes. He and his wife were really nice, but the truth of the matter is that I wasn't really there to make new friends.
The good part though was that my mom came out to watch Jackson and Douglas and I got to have some time together. We really enjoyed some one on one time.
I can't wait for the holidays! I can't wait to decorate and bake and shop. We are heading to Santa Barbara for Thanksgiving with my whole family.
Well, my child won't nap so I am off to try again. Wish me luck.
