Park City

Well, our get away weekend is over. It is always nice to get home and back to your things. Jackson did awesome staying with his Grandma Dee and Grandpa George. He ate his first happy meal and polished off the whole hamburger, half of the fries and half of his milk. He doesn't eat like that for me!! He is such a squirrel when I feed him. He slept well, stayed happy and I am sure LOVED the attention he got.

We got up to PC on Friday night, checked into our room and ate dinner at the restaurant in the resort. This is one of those time share deals where you get the room free if you listen to their speel. Which, side note, we actually considered purchasing until we realized that we are really too poor for it. That is good selling. They make you feel like you are this great vacationer and then want you to make a decision right then and there. Luckily I had the wits about me to say, no way am I making this decision right now while I sit here. They didn't want to let us go think about it, but reluctantly we did which is when reality set it and we were like, "what the heck are we thinking." Anyway, we got the free stay and $75. Not bad for a 90 minute presentation.

So is it sad that when you are on vacation all you want to do is sleep in, lay around all day watching TV and movies and eat? We went to main street in PC and wandered a little and had fun in the heated pool mmmmm, but besides for this, I was a total lazy sack. I didn't even take my camera out which is unheard of. It was a really relaxing vacation for us and so nice to be able to leave Jackson with someone we really trusted.

So we watched the movie Tristan and Isolde. Anyone seen it? I liked it and yet was disturbed by it. Let me know what you thought of it. We wanted to go to the theatres and see something, but there is really nothing playing, although Stick It was in the top of our list too, or should I say my list?? Douglas hadn't even heard of it. I think we will go see MI III this Friday. It will probobly be totally stupid, but looks exciting anyway. Dang, I'm an easy sell. Oh by the way that is Mission Impossible III.

I don't want to even think about all I have to do this week. Our yard is dying, my house is nasty, I HAVE to finish painting Jackson's room, I am working, going to a scrapbook all nighter. Ahhhh, just the thought makes me feel major anxiety. I am starting over with Fly Lady. I am even a failure at that. I do really well for a while and then get lazy and forget and it is a slippery slope downhill.

I am photographing a wedding in two weeks. I am really nervous and I have a new lens I need to figure out--also adding to my anxiety.

Christian and Holly

Just some pictures I took of Christian and Holly for those of you who have never seen her. She is really great--definitely a good match for Christian.

I am having Jackson picture withdrawls so I thought I would post these cute ones from Easter weekend. Posted by Picasa

Grace's new big girl bed.

Buddy found this one night when he went to check on Grace in her big girl bed. Who knows how she got there. Funny girl. Posted by Picasa

Cute little Grace

Made this the other day for buddy and sally. Grace was a little stinker (aka two year old) when we went out to take these pictures. She didn't want to look at me at all because she was searching for "Nino" (Nemo) in the water. Cute. Posted by Picasa

long night...

Wow, I feel like I was run over by a tanker right now. Between Douglas getting in and out of bed last night and Jackson waking up screaming I am beat. Every so often Jackson will wake up in the night screaming and after 10 minutes of not going back to sleep I will go in to Bink him. The problem is that he doesn't want me to leave. Usually I am kind hearted enough to sit in the rocker for a while until he is out of it enough that I can get on the floor and crawl out, but last night I just didn't have the patience for it so I Binked him, read him a book and kissed him good night and walked out as he screamed on the top of his lungs. I shut his door and mine, put my hand over my ear and eventually fell back to sleep. I don't know that he ever did, but I couldn't deal with being up again. Am I a horrible mom or what.

And now, I am watching my friends kids all day. I so wanted a good night sleep for this event (two year old twins).

Jackson has started doing the cutest thing. There is this part on Baby Mozart where a dinosaur puppet comes out and moves its head back and forth and finally says "blah". When J hears this part in BE he hurries to the family room shaking his head back and forth like the dino and then says "Baaa" when the dino sticks out his tongue. It is really cute if I do say so myself.

So is it normal for kids to be able to stay focused on a movie at two years old? Just wondering.

Well, I guess I will go and eat something healthy for breakfast. I ate three desserts yesterday and I am still feeling a little guilty about it. I guess I just felt bad for myself since it was my anniversary and I had a sick hubby. Very uneventful. At least we are headed to park city this weekend sin baby for a little getaway. That will be nice.

I now have two two year olds hanging out by me so I will sign off. Hasta pronto.

I splurged....

It has been my quest for some time to find cute long shirts that aren't too tight or rub my armpits wrong. Well, I did and I am happy to announce that I invested in four new, really cute shirts. Click HERE to go to the website. These are the shirts I bought. There are many more I want, but I used a little discretion.

Chitter Chatter

Just ordered a new camera lens and I am soooo excited Tamron 24-75mm f2.8 It will be SWEET!

Chitter Chatter

Since Sarah just posted a list of ephiphanies I thought I would add some of myself.

1. I can never take anyone's word for it. I always think I can come up with a better way.

Case in point: Painting Jackson's wall. I have a friend who just recently did it and told me exactly what to do. Easy huh?? Well, I thought there must be an easier way.

2. There isn't an easier way.
Case in point: Paint that bled under the tape.

3. There are both paintable and non paintable caulk.

4. Non paintable is dang hard or dare say IMPOSSIBLE to get off the tape after you put it all on and THEN realize the paint won't adhere to it.

5. Why try?
I ask myself this often as a "easy" project turns out to be my worst nightmare and I lose all desire to finish.

You Belong in Paris

You enjoy all that life has to offer, and you can appreciate the fine tastes and sites of Paris.
You're the perfect person to wander the streets of Paris aimlessly, enjoying architecture and a crepe.

Chitter Chatter

Do you have a hard time keeping up on your house? Sometimes I feel like mine is going to eat me. I am doing this fly lady thing that I tried about a year ago, but didn't committ fully to it. Now I am trying again, So far at least my kitchen is clean at night, but I want to get rid of the junk and get it organized. The one allowance I give myself is that I still have A LOT of my parent's stuff in the closets. It makes it hard to have anywhere to tuck things away. Sometimes I just get overwhelmed with it all.

On another happy note...I think I got Jackson's throat thing. So not cool with family coming to town and a messy house I am supposed to be motivated to clean up. Aaahhhh.

Went to Cafe Rio for dinner last night. I love that place. Seriously, I think I could eat there every day it is so good. And we rented Memoirs of a Geisha. Very enjoyable. I have been making bracelets and bows like crazy. Let me know if you would like some for your daughter to model and advertise for us and I will send some.

I have been thinking about joining Weight Watcher lately. I still want to lose 9 pounds to be back to where I like to be. It is really discouraging because I go to the gym every day and try to watch what I eat. I am getting desperate. It is just such a financial committment that I drag my feet to get started. Oh yeah, I also like to eat what I want and not feel guilty. Sometimes I feel like life is so laden with guilt. If it isn't one thing, it's another.

The clue wall is painted in Jackson's room. Now on to the stripes and 3 days to do it. Wish me luck.

back to normal...hooray!

Chitter Chatter
Well, I am happy to say that my little sweet pea is back to normal. He woke up at 9am today happy and playing unlike the screaming of past days (at 5am no less). He wanted to hang out with me all day, but was content running errands, visiting his Grams, and playing with Strider. What a tough life. And, he went right to bed tonight. Love it. Days like this remind me why I love being a mom. The best is when he comes to me and squeezes my legs as if giving me a hug. Love that too. Anyways, just loving my baby today and thought I would share.

the worst thing in the world is...

A SICK BABY. Although it is great birth control b/c I realize my limited ability to deal with a needy baby. And yet, I feel so sad for him that I just want to love him.

Even worse than that...the time change and a baby that thinks he goes to bed at 8pm now. His early bedtime is my sanity and so that is not going to fly.

But the BEST thing...is a baby that loves the new, huge, oversized (did you get the big part) plush duck that his grams bought him at Kmart. I mean he LOVES this thing. I have never seen him like this with anything besides his hair. He likes to go over and lay his head on the duck and snuggle with it. The cutest thing ever, let me tell you.

Jicama

Does jicama really have purpose? I bought some to try it out and yes, it has an interesting texture and crunch, but absolutley no flavor. What do you think?
