Weekly Update

I officially hate being home alone at night. I hate going to bed. I hear noises. I imagine things. And lately, I have been having bizarre pregnancy dreams. What do you do though? I have to sleep, at least a little. I was spoiled and Douglas decided to rent a car and drive 9 hours each way to come home for the weekend. It was so great to have him. We went to the zoo on Saturday and the weather was amazing. We went out on a date Saturday night, we went to church together. He weed wacked the yard. It was great and so normal, yet not normal since he had to leave again today. Boo.

Let's talk for a second about the weather here. I do not like it. Winter lasted half the year, then it rained, no poured, for almost three weeks straight. We had one nice day of dry weather and then today it was miserably hot and humid and tomorrow is supposed to be worse. WHAT?? When do I get some spring days to enjoy sitting outside? I am not sitting outside in the opressive heat, I will tell you that. I want to hibernate in my cool basement which I have a feeling I will be LOVING this summer.

I finally cleared off my sewing table and Douglas built me a cutting table and it has been so great to sew and craft there in the evenings. I am making Paige a tent cover and some dresses. We have a family picture session scheduled in a month and I still haven't chosen clothing which stresses me out. I am making a dress for Paige and hope maybe that will work.

The baby has been moving a lot lately. It is so fun and reassuring to feel the baby moving around. The movements are getting stronger too. I have my ultrasound scheduled for Friday. It will be strange to go alone. I thought about taking the kids, but I think they will detract more then add the the experience. I am guessing boy, but who knows.

It is Paige's last week of preschool. The summer is upon us. I will have to become fun mom and get in entertainment mode. Paige does so well and entertaining herself...Jackson, not so much. I am putting together activity jars for them to choose out things to do so we can have things to look forward too.

Yesterday was our first tornado sirens and warnings. The kids were very nervous. The rain never got to be more than a sprinkle though, so we didn't worry too much. We did move everything into the garage though. With all the terrible storms this spring, you can't be too safe.

Douglas is loving his job. He heads to Wyoming this week to tour some mines. He likes the people and they are doing a lot to impress him. What will really impress me is a good offer at the end of all of this. It would be so nice for him to not have to recruit in the fall with the baby coming.

I bought a swing and bouncy seat of Craigslist. I need a carseat, bath, baby towels, pack and play sheets, swaddling blankets, bumbo etc. still. I am sure I am forgetting things. It is sad to not be putting up a crib, but there is no where to put one! I will put the cradle in my room and pack and play in my office and make it work. No nursery to decorate. I guess that is good considering our lack of current income!

Well, my typing is getting worse and worse. I am spelling things backwards. It is definitely time to call it a night!!

Cute clothes, bad picture. Late for church, I am sure.

Jackson 5 year old pictures

I took these pictures last spring with Jackson. I wasn't thrilled with them at the time, but as I looked back, they were so cute. It is amazing how he changes from year to year.

Half Way Cooked

Well, I guess I never made the official announcement to the blogging world (mainly family and close friends anyway), but I am pregnant with baby #3...I will get my ultrasound next week. We are excited/nervous/crazy.

Orange County

I packed up the kids and took one more trip to visit Buddy, Sally and the kids before we moved away (spring 2010!). The kids always have such a great time! They play outdoors, we went to the beach, the kids play place and hiking. It was a lot of fun!

Preschool Graduation

Well, about a year ago Jackson became a graduate of Shooting Stars (is that what it is called) preschool. Miss Debbie was an amazing teacher and Jackson loved going! They did a cute program along with songs and chants. I was happy that J got up and participated because sometimes he gets kind of shy with stuff like this. I have to admit that I got a little choked up watching my little boy growing up!

Have I mentioned that Paige insists on dressing herself. She gets really creative sometimes. Case in point....

J turns 5!

I like birthdays to drag out far longer than they should so here is a peek into Jackson's birthday marathon last year!

We started a few days early with a birthday dinner at Red Robin. My parents were gone for the actual day so we celebrated with them then. We were thrilled to have George and DeEtte visiting too! Such a treat!

Photobucket He got a new CD player. I can't remember what else. Good stuff, I am sure.

Photobucket Oh, a camera. Here he is practicing his still life shots with his awesome 1.5 megapixel camera. Quality pics.

And on to the most exciting part of his birthday...a party at Pirate Island Pizza! What fun. What delicious food (not really)! That is one scary pirate...

my cake masterpiece. For all my creative abilities, I cannot decorate cakes, so I was pretty proud of this masterpiece. I won't tell you how many stores I went to in order to find rootbeer barrels. I had to have them for the cake. The kids really cared.

Have you ever seen a cuter pirate cake?
